Post #116: Natalie Merchant - "Maggie and Milly and Molly and May"

Post #116: There are a handful of female artists that scream WOMAN to me.

Partly due to the feminine strength that they convey through their music, and partly because I associate them with events like Lilith Fair.

Artists like Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, and one of my favorites, Natalie Merchant.

Natalie spent over a decade with the band 10,000 Maniacs before going solo in 1993.

This last year she released her 5th solo album Leave Your Sleep, a double disc that is a collection of music adapted from 19th and 20th century British and American poetry about childhood.

This is my favorite.
