Post #49: August Burns Red - "Your Little Suburbia Is In Ruins"

Post #49: Since "heavier" music is such a big part of what I listen to, I have decided to start implementing "Metal Mondays".

And probably the best place to start is with my favorite metal song, which happens to be the most listened to song in my library.

I have had the chance to see August Burns Red a few times, and they are one of the best live shows I have ever seen. So much energy. And with songs that tend to be difficult to play live, they are always dead on, sounding very close to the album.

ABR is a Christian Metalcore band from Pennsylvania.  Metalcore being a fusion of Extreme Metal and Hardcore Punk.

The song is only 3:59 long...not sure why the post is over 7 minutes.

  1. Interesting that you went Metal today because I finally gave Infinite Order an open-minded listen over the weekend. Once I got past the vocals, I actually liked it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not ready to join you at the next Megadeth concert, but for a change of pace...

Do you mainly listed to metalcore or do you like more mainstream hard rock as well? I got Red's End of Silence the other day and it was a first-listen hit, which hasn't happened for me in a long time.

  2. I am so glad you listened to it. There was a time in my life when I couldn't get past the vocals either, but over time it grew on me to the point whee I love it now. It is an acquired taste. :)

I listen everything metal...even death metal. And a lot of hard rock too (Nickleback, Puddle of Mudd, etc.).

Now I will have to pull out Red's End of Silence again. I bought it at their show, after they opened up for Sevendust. You wouldn't think so listening to the music, but a lot of these guys are super, super nice. The guys from Red included. If I remember correctly they have two guitarists that are twin brothers. And they would mimic each other on stage and spin their guitars up over their head and around their body at the same time. It was awesome!
