Finding new music can almost be similar to dating.

When it comes to dating, we all have certain aspects we look for in a suitable mate.

And just like when you meet a possible mate, there are certain qualities you look for in a band, which you will then use to determine if you "like, like" or just "like" said band.

Certain qualities will lead to "dating" and guarantee that their album will get continuous play for the weeks to come.

Unfortunately, sometimes during dating, there may also be qualities that surface down the road, which could lead to a break up.  Maybe they are too "clingy" and won't leave you alone by being played on the radio too much.  Or perhaps they start showing negative behavior that does not suit you, which will cause you to kick them to the curb and stop listening to them.

It is an unbelievable feeling when you find qualities in a band that cause you to become a fan for life.  When this happens it is like a marriage.  Your relationship with this band will not necessarily be perfect, and the band may still mess up from time to time, but if you are a true fan for life, you will learn to forgive and accept them for who they are.

This is where the comparison of music and relationships stop.  You can date numerous bands.  You can be married to numerous bands.  All the while never being worried about cheating or hurting feelings.  You can try different things.  Maybe today it is Alt Country, and tomorrow it is Heavy Metal.  You can make choices based on your mood or even your activities.

Bottom line:  Music is one of the biggest blessings God has given us.  Music will always be there for you regardless of who you are or what you are going through. It doesn't care what you look like, how you dress or how you smell.  It doesn't care about your sex or your color.  Music can bring strength.  It can calm your nerves.  Sometimes it can save your life.

The point of this blog is to introduce anyone that is interested, to new music.  These posts will consist of bands that I have dated, or am currently dating.  And sometimes bands that I am married too.

I have an open relationship with all of the bands featured in this blog.

Please date my music...I really don't mind.

  2. Hey Dan! I'm glad you had a chance to check it out. And I appreciate the feedback and different songs. I love to know when people like or even dislike them. Now that you are checking it out, I will be posting some Metal. Living Sacrifice perhaps?
